The reformer is a platform that moves back and forth, with springs attached to one end to provide resistance. Most movements carried out on the reformer, whether standing, sitting or laying down, involve pulling or pushing the platform against the spring resistance and then controlling the movement back.
Like mat pilates, reformer pilates improves strength, flexibility, and balance, as well as coordination, posture, mental focus, and body alignment. Like mat pilates, there’s a strong focus on strengthening the core. But the added resistance of the springs, which can be adjusted, and the instability of the sliding platform provide more opportunities for progression offering a powerful, dynamic workout.
Currently, I am only able to offer private 1:1 sessions at my home but I am hoping in the near future to be able to offer larger groups.
1:1 sessions are charged at £40 a session
